Hocking Primary has a Physical Education program run by a specialist PE Teacher for all students from Year 1 to Year 6. The curriculum for Year’s 1 – 3 the focuses on the development of fundamental movement skill which are also incorporated into fun games and activities. The older students further develop these skills through a wide range of sports and activities.

At Hocking we strive to develop a students’ physical literacy which is the motivation, confidence, competence, knowledge, and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities for life.

Each year students are involved in whole school sporting events including, cross country and the faction athletics carnival with interschool competitions in both. Students also participate in interschool sports including; AFL, Netball, Cricket, Basketball, Handball, Soccer, Rugby League and Modcrosse. We have close ties to community sporting groups and are strongly supported and assisted by parents.

For the last three years Hocking has finished in the top 3 in the “School Sports WA Most Active Primary School Awards”
